Retd DSP who planted 870 trees

67-year-old Ranjeet Singh Mann is a retired DSP. He now lives in his native village Balianwali, in the Bhatinda district. In June 2020, he reached out to RoundGlass Foundation to create a mini forest on his personal land. A 2-canal plot of his 3-acre land was planted with saplings. A mini forest was created with 870 trees.

These trees are now 15 feet tall. The before and after pictures will help you imagine how the greenery has changed the surroundings. One can also imagine how many birds, butterflies, bees, and small animals now feel welcomed in the area.

Ranjeet Singh also maintains a small kitchen garden since 2016. Here he nurtures 30 plants that give him fresh vegetables and herbs for his daily meals.

Steps like these by individuals bring a big cumulative difference to our ecosystem. Mini forests help control soil erosion, and increase the water table level in the region.

At RoundGlass Foundation we look forward to many such collaborations to plant trees.
