Gurmail Singh has been a gardener for 39 years now. He doesn’t want to miss a single day of work. On the days that he has to, for personal work at home, he ends up with a headache. He wants to spend each day with plants, trees, and saplings.
For the past 2 years, Gurmail Singh has been the head of RoundGlass Foundation’s nursery at Lang village. Here he looks after 4 lakh plants, and he has 25 team members to help. The native trees of Punjab are propagated here and distributed all over the state for free.
Gurmail Singh is known in the region for his in-depth knowledge about trees and plants. Employees of the Forest Department often visit him in the nursery to see him at work.
When one is truly in love with the work they do, each day is play. We are very fortunate to have found Gurmail Singh to run and manage our nursery. His love towards the plants is unmatched, he treats them like his children. What’s more precious for our children than our time?
