Sultanpur Lodhi Battles Punjab’s Flood Fury
Sultanpur Lodhi’s Mand region is reeling from its third catastrophic flood in seven years. Over 4,500 acres of paddy fields across 14 villages are submerged, leaving families marooned and livestock stranded amid decaying crops. The Beas River’s altered course has cracked homes and forced evacuations, while breaches in embankments continue to threaten entire communities. The need is urgent — every hour lost deepens the devastation.
But that’s not all. The real crisis begins when the waters recede — families are left battling disease outbreaks, ruined schools, vanished roads, the loss of livestock and disappearance of an entire season’s crops. Without timely action, livelihoods will collapse, pushing entire communities deeper into poverty.
Roundglass Foundation is working closely with the Government of Punjab and district administrations to deliver immediate relief and a structured rehabilitation plan in Sultanpur Lodhi.
This includes providing safe drinking water, rations, medicines, sanitary hygiene products, mosquito nets, and temporary shelter now. In Phase 2, we are working closely with the administration and communities to restore farmlands with seeds, diesel, fertilizers, desilting, and soil repair; support income rehabilitation (up to Rs. 10,000 per acre); assist school children; and help families rebuild their homes.
Your timely support can mean the difference between despair and resilience for Sultanpur Lodhi.
