Missing an arm, but not missing grit.

Missing an arm, but not missing grit.

Randhir Singh lost an arm in an accident eight years back. It was a life-changing event and he had to relearn how to live with one arm less. His mental strength has grown to such a degree over the years that he no longer says no to intense physical labor. He may have a missing arm, but he has no missing grit.

Randhir has been working with RoundGlass Foundation for over a year now as a waste collector. He proactively goes around educating villagers about the proper disposal of waste. Pointing out garbage left in lanes, or littered around.

He doesn’t pay heed to what others say or think about his work. He says, “Many people are ashamed of picking waste. But I consider it as a job that is helping me financially and making my village clean.” Saying yes to rigorous physical work where as a waste collector he has to sometimes push a heavy cart, he says, “Though I collect waste in two villages, but if you give me four villages, I can even take those up.”

Such willingness to work is admirable.
